Founder
Maik Emmermann is an accomplished manager and investor whose success is based on many years of management-level experience in the telecommunications sector.
From 2000 to 2005, Maik Emmermann was a member of the management board at Tiscali Deutschland and Managing Director of Tiscali Network GmbH. These positions saw him assume responsibility for all B2C operations and customer service activities.
It was during this period that he spent two years in Milan (Italy) as Director of Partnerships and Business Development at Tiscali International, a firm active in over ten countries.
From October 2005 onwards, Maik Emmermann spent six years as Senior Vice President at the cable network provider Unitymedia, where he was involved in the successful sale of the firm to Liberty Global (headed up by Jon Malone) for 3.5 billion euros.
In the period prior to the establishment of Novus Ventures in spring 2013, Maik Emmermann was Chief Marketing and Chief Sales Officer at Germany’s third-largest cable network operator, Tele Columbus. He was responsible for the firm’s entire B2C operations, which included marketing, product management, sales, content negotiations with TV stations, customer relationship management and all customer service activities.
The foundation of Novus Ventures GmbH sees Maik Emmermann establish his own investment and consultancy firm. He views himself as more than just a financial backer, and also seeks to take an active role in partner firms in order to work jointly with business founders to ensure above-average value creation.
Since May 2013, Maik Emmermann has also been a partner at Merapar, an international investment and consulting firm specializing in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector. The firm has set up its own fund in the double-digit million euro range, and has an office in Berlin as well as several branches in other European countries and the USA.
